With continuous development in plant bio-technology, transportation and marketing strategies, floriculture has reached great heights with exports witnessing a sizeable 10% growth in a span of one year from 2017 to 2018. Also, due to the current political, social and environmental unrest prevailing across the globe, the millennials are looking to escape the turmoil by creating a refuge indoors and are placing more significance on bringing organic elements in their homes through reusing goods, purchasing eco – friendly products and incorporating nature into home. Hence, a huge upswing is seen in domestic flowers trade both in terms of volume and value. Commercial end-users form the largest segment of the flowers and ornamental plants market, generating about 80% of the entire revenue. The residential segment is also growing swiftly due to increased number of residential projects that are concentrating on greener and healthier landscapes. The Agriculture and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) data has projected a 600-crore worth floriculture export for the fiscal year 2018.
Florance Flora persistently works to supply those in the floriculture industry with the latest consumer trends. Indoor and outdoor plants are increasingly becoming common not only at personal spaces but also in offices. With desire for juxtapositions and love for change, consumers want to live a life of love and opulence on one day while want to feel relaxed like that on a Hawaiian beach on the other. Through flower varieties, distinct colors, uncommon pots etc. consumers aim to obtain ideal combinations to showcase their individuality. In order to cater to the increasing demands of the consumers all over the world, Florance Flora has added new varieties of plants to its already existing young plants and pot plants. These include:
– Flowering plants like Anthuriums, Bromeliads, Kalanchoe, Phalaenopsis, Liliums etc. to suit those who adore dreamy floral arrangements in soft romantic hues and are inspired by the French.
– Ornamental plants such as Ferns, Syngonium etc. for consumers who are searching for something a little less lavish, more youthful combining a repurposed style and artistic expression.
– Succulents including Aloe Vera and Crassula specially to serve those who are inclined towards the Mediterranean style of living.
To meet the soaring demand for indoor and outdoor plants, Florance Flora has opened a new 85-acre farm in Hassan. The plan is to build a state of art farm like never before with cutting edge irrigation systems, intense climate and humidity control, and technology standards in the horticulture industry. The farm will also house a nursery where varieties and colours would be displayed in distinctive ways and growers would be provided with extensive knowledge on how to improve the quantity and quality of their produce. The past year has been enriching in terms of new developments. Close to 35 assortments have been added to the young plants & cut flowers segment, and about 20 new varieties of pot plants have been introduced. However, Florance Flora does not plan to stop here. We will continue to challenge ourselves to keep developing new varieties and provide an array of trendy flowers and houseplants throughout the world.
